Campbell River- otherwise known as the "Salmon Capital of the World" is situated on the east coast of Vancouver Island with Strathcona Provincial Park to the west and Desolation sound and the Coastal mountain range to the east. Surrounded by mountains, lakes, rivers and ocean this area has much to offer. Campbell River is a growing community with a population of about 30,000.

The 600 foot Discovery Pier is one of Campbell River's great spots to take an evening stroll and watch the cruise ships go by... especially while eating one of their famous waffle ice cream cones!

Campbell River has a number of walking/biking trails including the Canyon View trail around the Campbell River, the Salmon Point trail along the Oyster River and Saratoga beach and the Haig-Brown King Fisher Creek walk which is named in remembrance of Roderick and AnnHaig-Brown The walk begins at the restored 1923 farmhouse of these pioneer conservationists.
